Tweed Holiday Parks Tweed Heads has been shortlisted as an industry award finalist in the Holiday Park of the Year Award (more than 100 sites) category at the 2019 Caravan and Camping Industry Association (CCIA) Awards of Excellence, which will be hosted on the 7th of November at the Sofitel Darling Harbour, Sydney.

The Awards are one of the most exciting and anticipated events for the caravan and holiday park industry where the achievements and successes of industry members are celebrated.

Park Manager, Angela Hodge comments on the nomination, “We are honoured to be selected for an award of this status and to be amongst parks of high calibre from around the State.”

For Tweed Heads there is a lot to celebrate this year. In January the park completed a $1.5M makeover which included eight new relocatable cabins, an accessible cabin, two pre-existing refurbished cabins and the introduction of a waterfront barbeque shelter.

Tweed Holiday Parks Unit Coordinator, Andrew Illingworth, comments on the transformation, “We really wanted to make the best use of the natural environment we are in and the gorgeous view over Terranora Creek. It was about modernising our waterfront cabins and improving the standard of the cabin accommodation to not only capture a new market, but also meet what the market expectations are for onsite accommodation in a modern Holiday Park.”

Park Manager, Angela Hodge adds, “The feedback has been really positive. Everyone is enjoying the new look down at the foreshore. Our guests are enjoying cooking with a view at the new waterfront barbeque shelter.”

As of the 1st of July, this year, Tweed Shire Council changed the name of Tweed Coast Holiday Parks to Tweed Holiday Parks to reflect the future direction for this growing community enterprise. This also saw other name changes and ‘Boyds Bay’ became ‘Tweed Heads’.

Tweed Heads were this year awarded with a 2019 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence Award for the second consecutive year in a row.

Park Manager Angela Hodge continues, “We are so proud of our Holiday Park’s achievements this year and can’t wait to see what the CCIA Awards night brings later this year. Our fingers and toes are all crossed!”
