Tursa Employment & Training
Tursa Employment & Training currently operates in the area from Coffs Harbour to Southport, providing employment and training services from 22 conveniently located centres to assist job seekers and business and they include the 3 additional sites: Nambucca Heads, Robina (Gold Coast), and Oxenford (Gold Coast) were added. Since commencing operations from Lismore in 1995 TURSA has increased its activities steadily and significantly at each opportunity to do so.
TURSA is a not-for-profit, regional organisation committed to its region and the community.
As a matter of policy, TURSA opens sites in small towns and communities such as Woolgoolga, Bellingen, Yamba, Kyogle, and Mullumbimby even though such sites may need to be subsidised from overall business operations.
TURSA’s General Manager and founder, Ron Rathborne, said TURSA provides assistance to help businesses employ workers and for job seekers to get jobs. “This assistance includes OHS training, wage subsidies, training, appropriate work clothing, and fares assistance,” Mr Rathborne said. “We’re prepared to consider any reasonable request that helps business and workers.”
TURSA is committed to the use of useful training and work experience as principal and practical means of assisting job seekers into employment. TURSA also delivers the Productivity Places Program: a major initiative by the Government to grow Australia’s human capital as well as assist job seekers in workforce participation.
Area Manager, Amanda Bartyn from the South Tweed Heads office said at a time when skills were changing and the modern workplace required more skills, traineeships were a great option for both business and workers. Traineeships are a great way to change career direction or to re-enter the workforce.
“We not only provide trainees but we can also provide on-the-job traineeship training, which is funded by the NSW Department of Education and Training, and that can be customised to suit the business,” Ms Bartyn said.
“Employees can also get incentives from the government for employing a trainee.”
In times of economic down-turn, skills training, traineeships, and self employment as well as job-seeking will all be strategies to be used for workers to get through to better times.
Tursa Employment & Training provides staff recruitment, Job Services Australia, traineeship training, commercial training, Productivity Places Program.
Tursa Employment & Training looks forward to the opportunities to provide better and more targeted services to clients and the business community.
