Description:

Because it’s not a matter of if, it’s a matter of a matter of when… We collaborate to assist with preparedness, response, support, recovery and resilience.

Why We Do It:

Government currently doesn’t have a long-term solution for permanent residential park occupants who face reoccurring home inundation, an aging demographic which struggles to access affordable housing and also has to contend with poor infrastructure.

We assist these people who have been forgotten and who are some of the most vulnerable people in our community. The reason for this is partly due to the inadequate specific legislation.

What We Provide:

  • Material Aid – Towels, Linen, Kitchenware/Appliances etc
  • Facilitate incoming and outgoing donations of household items. Whitegoods, furniture etc
  • Accidental Counselling/Emotional Support
  • Advocacy & Referrals to other services
  • Facilitate Rotary Club Grants (up to $500)
  • Facilitate Lions Club Grants (up to $2000)
  • GIVIT Registrations
  • CRT (community Response Team) leaders – Rediplan Session collaboration & Emergency Alert Communications

  • Facilitated and/or distributed in excess of $200,000 in financial support through grants of $500-$2000, grocery vouchers, fuel vouchers, whitegoods/furniture vouchers etc through agencies such as Lions, Rotary, Church groups, private donors and GIVIT.
  • Assisted approximately 2500 residents from Chinderah, Kingscliff and Fingal communities in their flood recovery
  • Assisted 1000+ residents from the wider community, Murwillumbah, Condong, Tumbulgum, Uki etc
